Storytel – Audiobooks & Books

Storytel – Audiobooks & Books is an app designed to provide access to a comprehensive library of audiobooks, ebooks, and podcasts, including exclusive Storytel Originals. Users can explore a wide range of stories in English and various other languages, with the flexibility to either listen to audio versions or read digital books. A distinctive feature is the ability to switch between listening and reading within the same book, allowing for a personalized and continuous storytelling experience across different moments and preferences. Access to the full library is provided through a subscription.

Accessing a Diverse Library

The app allows users to explore a massive collection of stories spanning various genres such as crime, feel-good narratives, and self-development titles. Users can build a personalized bookshelf to curate their favorite content and receive recommendations tailored to their interests. The app also supports following preferred authors and series, and it enables browsing and sharing reviews and reactions with others, fostering discovery of trending stories or titles recommended by friends.

Flexible Listening and Reading Experience

Storytel offers multiple ways to engage with its content. Audio stories can be streamed directly or downloaded for offline access, and they are playable across various devices including mobile phones, tablets, Chromecast, Wear OS watches, and in-car systems via Android Auto and Android Automotive. Listeners can adjust the playback speed to their preference, choosing regular, sped-up, or slowed-down narration. For both audio and text, the app supports setting bookmarks and attaching personal thoughts as notes. A sleep timer is available for those who listen before sleeping, and Dark Mode can be activated to reduce eye strain. The app also tracks listening statistics and allows users to set personal listening goals.

Dedicated Kids Mode

Included within the app is a Kids Mode, which provides a curated space exclusively for children’s stories. This feature allows parents to show or hide children’s books from their main bookshelf and secure access to the mode with a unique pin code, ensuring a controlled environment for younger users.
